Public policy leader and advisor to local authorities, specialising in housing sustainability policy and regulation in government departments and agencies, championing quality and sustainability with a focus on resident, community and pupil leadership.
Committee chair, community leader and campaigner underpinned by a suite of skills incorporating high level communications, strategic thinking, leadership and advocacy.
Major pieces of work include: advising schools ministers on Building Schools for the Future at the Department for Education; leading design and sustainability strategy and research for the Homes and Communities Agency, a career as practising architect and lecturer in architecture, and a term as Local Councillor.
Providing strategic advice to Design England projects, Laura is a co-founder of the Human Change Agency and has spent the last twenty years working in the fields of strategy, human resources, organisation development and change. Prior to founding the HCA, her most recent role was for a charity, CIPD, where she was Strategy and Transformation Director. In this role she was responsible for the CIPD’s strategy, research and advocacy, as well as the internal HR and finance functions.
Prior to working for CIPD, she held a number of business leadership roles, including as an HR Director in Aviva plc. She began her career in consultancy and spent eight years working for large consulting firms, PwC and EY.
